Overview STOP, Inc. is seeking experienced and currently certified Traffic Control Technicians (TCTs) and Traffic Control Supervisors (TCSs) to support traffic control operations throughout Georgia.

This is not an entry-level flagger position. Applicants must possess a valid TCT or TCS certification and have practical experience setting up, inspecting, maintaining, and removing traffic control work zones.

Selected candidates will be responsible for ensuring that traffic control operations are established according to approved plans, MUTCD requirements, GDOT requirements, and company safety procedures. TCS candidates may also be assigned to supervise traffic control crews, conduct job-site inspections, complete required documentation, and communicate with clients and management.

All technicians and supervisors are expected to actively participate in the traffic control operation. Team leads and supervisors must exit the vehicle, assist their crews, monitor approaching traffic, and correct unsafe conditions immediately. Responsibilities Set up, maintain, inspect, and remove traffic control work zones. Read and properly implement traffic control plans. Determine the appropriate placement of advance-warning signs, cones, barrels, barricades, and other traffic control devices. Properly establish tapers, buffers, activity areas, and termination areas. Identify when arrow boards, message boards, additional personnel, or law-enforcement officers may be required. Confirm that traffic control devices meet applicable MUTCD, GDOT, and project requirements. Lead or assist with lane closures, flagging operations, utility work, fiber installation, paving projects, and other roadway construction activities. Direct traffic using stop/slow paddles, hand signals, radios, signs, and approved traffic control procedures. Monitor approaching traffic and warn crew members of vehicles entering or approaching the work zone. Conduct pre-job safety briefings and confirm that crew members understand their assignments. Inspect the work zone throughout the shift and immediately correct unsafe or noncompliant conditions. Supervise flaggers and less-experienced crew members when assigned. Ensure employees and contractors remain at their assigned posts and follow all safety procedures. Communicate professionally with clients, inspectors, law-enforcement officers, construction personnel, and company management. Complete daily reports, site-visit forms, safety documentation, equipment inspections, and required photo submissions. Inspect trucks and confirm that all required signs, cones, radios, paddles, PPE, and other equipment are present before leaving for the job site. Safely operate company vehicles and traffic control equipment when authorized. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and remain standing or walking for extended periods. Be available for daytime, overnight, weekend, emergency, and short-notice assignments when scheduled Required Qualifications Must be at least 21 years old. High school diploma or GED. Current and valid Traffic Control Technician (TCT) or Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) certification. Current Flagger Certification. Verifiable traffic control or roadway construction experience. Working knowledge of MUTCD traffic control standards and work-zone safety requirements. Ability to read and implement traffic control plans. Ability to properly construct tapers and establish compliant work zones. Ability to recognize and immediately correct unsafe traffic control conditions. Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and by radio. Ability to supervise and provide direction to traffic control personnel when assigned. Ability to lift, carry, place, and remove cones, signs, stands, barricades, and other traffic control equipment. Ability to work outdoors and stand or walk for extended periods. Reliable transportation and a reliable smartphone. Ability to complete electronic forms and upload job-site photographs. Must be dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and available to report as scheduled. Certification Verification Applicants must provide copies of their current Flagger, TCT, or TCS certification. Certifications and previous traffic control experience will be verified.
