R&M's main office is located in Bensenville (IL), as well as an intermodal terminal located in Elwood (IL). This position is only hiring at the Elwood terminal.
Job Responsibilities:
Intermodal Dispatcher Assign routes to company drivers and owner operators, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of freight. Transmit messages to drivers via tablet, as well as communicate via phone. Track and monitor driver vehicles to provide updates to customers and the customer service team. Prioritize calls and messages from drivers according to urgency and importance. Make adjustments to driver routes throughout the shift as needed to accommodate changes and other unforeseen circumstances such as weather, driver call-offs, etc. Be the main point of contact for drivers with any issues that arise while on their route, and assist in problem-solving. Schedule appointments at rail yards. Provide pertinent information to drivers such as close-out times, changes to the route, or other out of the oridinary procedures to follow regarding the freight they are hauling. Report any equipment issues to the safety team. Required Skills and Qualifications 2 years experience with international containers and intermodal trucking. 2 years experience in trucking dispatch. Knowledge of Chicagoland railways and yards. Knowledge of driver and equipment safety. Excellent oral communication. Reliable. Professionalism, patience, and "people-first" attitude. Ability to work with MS Office and other data programs. High school diploma. Schedule Requirements Monday-Friday, 11:00am start time Shift length varies day to day, however, on Average Intermodal CSR work between 8.5 to 9.5 hours per day. Overtime pay (time and a half) after 40 hours per week. Additional overtime avaialble if desired. Although not common, some schedule flexibility is required to adjust schedule as needed for operations.
