Traffic Control Technician

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Control Technician to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic at construction sites and roadwork zones. This role involves setting up and maintaining traffic control devices, directing vehicles, and supporting construction crews in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating heavy equipment and a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols. Prior experience with flagging is recommended. Duties Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control devices including cones, barriers, signs, and flagging equipment to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic safely around construction zones Operate Vehicles must have good driving records Assist with construction activities including site grading, utility locating, paving, and other related tasks Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for team members and the public Communicate effectively with construction crews, project managers, and the public to coordinate activities and address any safety concerns Perform routine inspections of traffic control setups to ensure proper functioning throughout shifts Support other construction operations requiring heavy equipment operation or site management expertise Experience Prior experience in construction sites or traffic control operations is preferred Driving Vehicles Knowledge of utility locating procedures is a plus Demonstrated ability to operate Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery safely and efficiently Familiarity with construction safety standards and protocols related to traffic management and heavy equipment operation Construction or civil engineering background is advantageous but not required; relevant on-the-job training will be provided for qualified candidates This role is essential for maintaining safe work zones while supporting ongoing construction projects.
