For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Hydraulic Specialist to serve as a Client Representative in this role.
The Role:
Client Representative — Hydraulic Specialist Inspection As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Construction Manager. Your mission is to verify that the shipyard's hydraulic power unit (HPU) installation, hose/tubing routing, and hydraulic system testing meets specification and functions correctly ahead of commissioning handover. Conduct specialist inspection of hydraulic power units (HPUs), hydraulic piping/hose routing, accumulators, and control manifolds. Verify hydraulic system installation against approved drawings and manufacturer specifications. Witness hydraulic system pressure testing and function testing, verifying results against approved test procedures. Troubleshoot hydraulic system installation issues in coordination with the shipyard and equipment vendors. Verify the closeout of hydraulic system punch-list items and raise non-conformances where work does not meet specification. Report inspection findings and progress daily to the Construction Manager. Requirements & Qualifications Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline. Minimum 5-8 years of hydraulic systems experience in offshore/marine fabrication, drilling equipment, or heavy industrial plant. Strong working knowledge of hydraulic power units, control manifolds, and hydraulic system testing procedures. Experience with drilling-rig hydraulic systems (e.g., BOP control systems, jacking system hydraulics) is highly advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
