Scale Master Reserve Park Recycling and Transfer - 5.0 Pittsburgh, PA Job Details Full-time From $20 an hour 2 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Qualifications Cash drawer handling Filing High school diploma or GED Cash register operations QuickBooks Safety equipment Full Job Description Summary Serves as the first point of contact for customers deposing of waste and scrap; weighs trucks; calculates payments; checks loads; assist with customer needs; take or give payment; and ensures the safety of the customers and employees in the yard. Essential Functions and Duties 1. Customer Service a. Greet customers, directs customers and other traffic, and answers questions accurately b. Interact professionally with a positive attitude with customers c. Maintain accurate records d. Enter necessary information into ScrapRight, QuickBooks e. Support other office functions as needed including filing, answering questions and phone calls, completing reports, etc f. Effectively communicate with yard staff verbally (using a 2-way radio) and through written communication such as email and text messages 2. Operation of Scale a. Weigh trucks b. Ensure trucks are properly positioned for accurate weights c. Instruct drivers to the appropriate tipping area d. Direct loads based on the contents; ensure incoming loads are safe and do not contain any inappropriate material e. Notifying the correct manager of any problems that require their attention 3. Cashiering a. Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, or on account b. Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers. c. Count money in cash drawer at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. d. Maintain accurate cash drawer; provide correct change to customers 4. Safety a. Following pre-established safety policies and guidelines b. Wearing PPE as required while on facility grounds and conducting work-related business c. Following company rules and federal, state and local laws 5. Other duties as assigned
