Job Overview Preferred Traffic Control is immediately hiring two Traffic Control Plan Drafters for our Everett office. This is an office-based drafting position—not a field flagging, remote, or hybrid position. Qualified applicants must hold a current Traffic Control Supervisor certification and have at least two years of hands-on traffic-control field experience. Previous drafting experience is preferred but not required. RapidPlan training may be provided to candidates with strong field knowledge and computer skills. Responsibilities Create and revise accurate traffic-control plans using Invarion RapidPlan Prepare typical, site-specific, aerial, trenching, and other traffic-control setups Review construction plans, maps, aerial imagery, work orders, and customer instructions Ensure plans comply with MUTCD, WSDOT, SDOT, and local jurisdiction standards Complete requested revisions and maintain organized project files Manage multiple assignments and meet established deadlines Communicate with the Engineering Manager and other team members Mandatory Qualifications Current Traffic Control Supervisor certification At least two years of hands-on traffic-control field experience Knowledge of traffic-control setups, signs, devices, and work-zone safety Familiarity with MUTCD, WSDOT, SDOT, and local jurisdiction standards Experience reading construction plans, maps, aerial imagery, or work orders Strong computer skills and attention to detail Ability to follow procedures, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines Reliable transportation and dependable attendance at our Everett office Preferred Qualifications Traffic-control plan drafting experience Experience using Invarion RapidPlan Experience with utility, construction, aerial, or trenching projects Pay and Schedule Starting pay is $25.00 per hour. Higher starting pay may be considered based on drafting and RapidPlan experience. Part-time to full-time hours are available based on workload, availability, and performance.
