Rate:
$17.00 - $21.00 per hour (dependent on experience, qualifications, and VA approval) Position Overview Kaleidoscope Supply Services supports the staffing of this position on behalf of a client company. If selected, you will be employed directly by the client—not Kaleidoscope, the VA, or the federal government. This role supports a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) federal contract. You will work alongside VA teams to help deliver services that support veterans and the VA's mission. About the Role You will safely and swiftly park and retrieve vehicles for veterans, visitors, and staff arriving at the facility. This is a highly active and physical role that requires you to continuously move between the main entrance and the parking staging areas while maintaining strict adherence to campus safety regulations and providing respectful, courteous service. Key Responsibilities Safely operate, park, and retrieve passenger vehicles of varying sizes in designated lots or parking structures. Run or walk briskly between the valet staging area and the parking lot to minimize wait times for guests. Conduct quick, accurate visual inspections of incoming vehicles for preexisting damage and document findings before parking. Maintain constant communication with the Valet Booth Attendant to coordinate claim tickets, key hand-offs, and vehicle retrieval orders. Assist passengers, including those with limited mobility, as they enter and exit their vehicles. Secure all parked vehicles by locking doors, closing windows, and returning keys immediately to the secure booth. Qualifications & Skills Active California Class C Driver's License. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major active violations or suspensions. Previous experience as a valet driver, lot attendant, or in a high-volume customer service role is highly preferred. Must be able to jog or walk briskly for extended periods, navigate parking structures, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Strong spatial awareness, ability to operate varying vehicle models safely, and a polite, energetic customer-first attitude. Contract Details This position supports a federal nonpersonal services contract with the VA. The anticipated contract term includes one base year with up to two optional renewal years, subject to funding, performance, and government needs. As part of the federal approval process, the VA may review resumes and may request interviews. Final placement and start date are contingent upon VA approval. While Kaleidoscope Supply Services manages the staffing process, the employer of record will be the client company supporting the VA contract.
Compensation Hourly pay:
you are paid only for hours worked. No paid holidays (holiday pay is not reimbursed by the government for this role). No paid time off (PTO) is included. Overtime is not permitted unless pre-approved by both the client and the VA. This compensation structure is standard for federal nonpersonal services contract positions. Personnel must comply with VA workplace conduct and appearance standards. Who Is This Role Ideal For This position is well suited for candidates who: Want to support federal work without being a federal employee Prefer hourly, contract-based roles Are comfortable in structured, compliance focused environments
