The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, be passionate about internal and external guest service, possess good multi-tasking skills and be a detail-oriented team player. The Valet/Bellhop is responsible for greeting guests upon arrival and departure, as well as assist with guest luggage and provide shuttle services as requested. This position promotes a positive image of the Hotel to guests and must be pleasant, honest, friendly, and address guest requests and problems in a timely and professional manner. Candidates must be able to operate vehicles with both automatic and manual transmissions. Candidates with serious driving violations from the previous 5 years may not be eligible for the role.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides prompt, friendly service to ensure guest satisfaction and return visits. Promptly greet guests entering the Hotel, opening exterior doors and/or assisting with luggage removal from their vehicle and carrying it to the front desk for check-in. Escort guests to accommodation. Visually inspect room and point out room features to the guest. Respond to guest inquiries, provide direction, information, and assistance as appropriate. Maintain luggage carts, ensuring carts are clean, in good working condition and are easily accessible. Deliver mail, packages, and other items to guest rooms, as requested. Respond to guest requests for assistance with luggage upon departure. Move luggage from room to vehicle. Park vehicles in designated valet lot and correctly fill out the valet tag for the vehicle. Safely handle guest keys and ensure they are locked in the valet cabinet when not in use. Locate guest vehicles, retrieve, and deliver the vehicle to the guest. Assist guest with any vehicle complications, such as being locked-out of the vehicle, flat tires, and jump-starts. Maintain a clean appearance in guest's vehicle and ensure when operating the vehicle that the vehicle is delivered to the guest in the same condition that it was received. Clean and maintain valet area. Notify supervisor if a vehicle is unsafe to drive or park. Ensure confidentiality and security of all guest rooms. Maintain a positive and cooperative work environment with all staff, supervisors, and managers. Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests. Follow all company safety and security policies. Attend mandatory meetings. Successfully meet all deadlines required. Maintain good public relations and interactions with guests, co-workers, and guests in a respectful and professional manner. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be able to lift, push, and pull required load approx. 30 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs with assistance. Must be able to spend the majority of the day standing, kneeling, bend, carrying, and walking. Strong attention to detail required. Must be able to follow written and verbal directions. Must be flexible in hours and days available to work, including all shifts, weekends and holidays. Previous guest service or valet experience preferred. Must be able to concentrate on repetitive tasks. Must have effective communication skills and must be able to work with a variety of people. Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment with multiple interruptions.
