Valet Attendant Status:
Non-Exempt Job Summary Assist arriving and departing guests in a friendly, courteous manner, park or retrieve guest vehicles as requested. Drive guest vehicles safely, without damage. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service to all guests. Inspect guest vehicle for any possible damage. Alert guest and document any vehicle damage prior to taking the possession of the vehicle. Ensure guest vehicle is damaged free and returned to guest promptly. Transport guest vehicle between hotel and hotel parking garage following designated route while obeying driving and traffic laws. Explain and promote hotel facilities and services; provide guests with information, such as local attractions, events, and directions. Ensure guest vehicle key is secure and guests are properly billed for valet services. Report any known accidents, observed or suspected violations of company policy, safety hazards or any unusual occurrence to the supervisor or hotel manager. Maintain customers' privacy. Adhere to grooming and uniform standards per hotel standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety or concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; and Internet software. Other Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. Must have a valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record; required to operate both automatic and manual vehicles. Must be at least 21 years of age.
