POSITION SUMMARY
The Sales Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the appearance, organization, and operational readiness of the dealerships vehicle inventory and sales areas. This position ensures that all showrooms, front-line, and lot vehicles are properly displayed, secure, and ready for presentation to customers. The Sales Porter assists with new vehicle check-ins, verifying manifests, coordinating vehicle placement, and maintaining the dealerships key tracking system. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIESLot & Vehicle management: Maintain all sales department parking areas, ensuring clear and organized access for customers and staff. Manage and monitor over 200 vehicles across multiple lots to maintain a professional and easily navigable layout. Check in new vehicles upon arrival, verifying that manifest data matches the vehicles VIN, trim, color, and options. Assess and document any vehicle damage or discrepancies immediately upon receipt. Coordinate vehicle parking, front-line placement, and display setup for showroom and promotional events. Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and presentation-ready for test drives and customer deliveries. Inspect and secure all vehicles at the end of each business day; lock gates and ensure proper lot safety. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized lot environment, reporting any hazards or vehicle issues promptly. Assist with lot organization during vehicle deliveries, transfers, or seasonal changes.
Key Management & Administrative Support:
: Operate and maintain accuracy within the dealerships automated key tracking system, ensuring all keys are properly logged, secured, and retrievable. Facilitate key check-out and return procedures for sales consultants, management, and service teams. Assist with administrative tasks such as vehicle manifest matching, lot tagging, and inventory updates. Support inventory staff with vehicle tracking and documentation as directed by management.
Vehicle Readiness & Customer Support:
Ensure vehicles are prepared for display, test drives, and delivery, maintaining high presentation standards consistent with 24 Auto Groups brand image. Assist Sales Consultants with locating and staging vehicles for demonstrations and customer deliveries. Support delivery events by ensuring vehicles are properly cleaned, fueled, and staged for presentation. Provide courteous and professional assistance to customers and staff when moving or preparing vehicles. Report any issues affecting vehicle readiness, appearance, or location immediately to management.
Operational Support, Safety & Compliance:
Follow all dealership and OSHA safety procedures, including the proper use of protective equipment and safe vehicle operation practices. Operate both manual and automatic transmission vehicles safely and responsibly. Monitor dealership lots for any unsafe conditions, security concerns, or potential hazards. Report any situations that may jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its employees, or its customers. Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and work area at all times. Perform other duties as assigned to support sales and dealership operations.
