Job Description:
We are seeking a dynamic and hands on Bell & Valet Assistant Manager. In this pivotal role, you will partner closely with the Guest Services Manager to supervise the team responsible for creating the first and last impression for every guest. Your focus will be on overseeing the daily arrival and departure operations at Beauport Hotel, while also directing these key services during events at Cruiseport Gloucester. Your goal is to ensure the highest standards of service are met across both venues through effective logistical coordination and direct team mentorship Essential Functions Partner with the Guest Services Manager in all daily operations, including effective staff scheduling, training, and continuous performance management. Supervise the bell and valet team to ensure they provide excellent, personalized customer service and consistently adhere to all hotel policies and procedures. Train new and existing staff on critical safety protocols, proper vehicle handling techniques, and uphold service standards. Foster a positive and motivated team environment, leading by example to inspire high performance and professionalism. Ensure all guest vehicles are parked and retrieved safely, efficiently, and with the utmost care; actively monitor the parking areas for any logistical or safety concerns. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the hotel's front entrances, driveways, and parking facilities, as well as all back-of-house bell and valet areas. Contribute to the development and implementation of new strategies to enhance valet operations, streamline processes, and improve overall service quality. Serve as a point of contact for guest feedback, handling any concerns with professionalism and appropriate resolution to ensure guest satisfaction. Collaborate with other hotel departments, including the Front Desk, Events, and Housekeeping. Proactively anticipate guest needs and ensure the team is prepared for high-volume periods, VIP arrivals, and special events.
Experience and Skills:
A minimum of 1-3 years of supervisory or leadership experience, preferably in valet, guest services, or a related hospitality field. Must hold and maintain a valid state driver's license with a current address and an acceptable driving history. The Ideal Candidate Natural leader who can effectively manage, train, and motivate a dynamic team. Possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, essential for mentoring staff and engaging with guests. Is a proactive problem-solver with a hands-on approach to leadership and operations. Thrives in a fast-paced, high-energy environment, remaining calm and making effective decisions under pressure. Demonstrates a deep commitment to upholding and enforcing all safety protocols. Work Environment and Physical Demands This is an active, on-your-feet role that requires the ability to stand, and walk for extended periods. The work primarily takes place indoors and outdoors, including exterior parts of the building such as parking lots, and driveways. Must be able to work in a variety of coastal New England weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow. This position requires the ability to frequently lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs., such as guest luggage.
Job Benefits:
Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support our team members. Salary range for the role is $50,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience.
