Job Description

Overview The Parking Lot Attendant is responsible for providing a safe, organized, and welcoming parking experience for guests attending events at the Alerus Center. This position directs vehicle traffic, assists guests with parking, monitors parking areas, and provides exceptional customer service while ensuring efficient traffic flow before, during, and after events. Parking Lot Attendants work outdoors in various weather conditions and play a key role in creating a positive first and last impression for every guest. This role pays an hourly rate of $17.00-$19.00 Benefits for Part-Time roles: 401(k) Savings Plan, 401(k) matching. This position will remain open until October 16, 2026. Responsibilities Direct vehicles into designated parking areas safely and efficiently. Collect payment for parking, via cash or card reader Welcome guests and provide directions to entrances and parking locations. Assist with traffic control before, during, and after events. Monitor parking lots for safety and report hazards or incidents. Maintain clear communication with supervisors and event staff via radio. Set up and remove traffic cones, barricades, and parking signage. Provide excellent customer service and respond to guest questions and concerns professionally. Assist with maintaining a clean and organized parking area. Follow all Alerus Center safety policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests, coworkers, and supervisors. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up heavy objects as needed for traffic control equipment such as cones, barricades, and signage. Ability to maintain situational awareness and safely direct vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
