Job Description

At Cortland we provide our residents with the ultimate in-house valet trash program nationwide. We believe investing in our team gives us an advantage to excel in resident satisfaction. The Cortland Front Door Manager will be responsible for managing operations for up to 35+ multifamily communities within an assigned regional area. The Cortland Front Door Manager works alongside our valet trash technicians and district managers, splitting their time between recruiting/hiring, interviewing, training, community visits and oversight of the local operations teams. The main function of this role will be to ensure that day time trash pick-up is completed per schedule to 100% satisfaction of our community teams. As we grow and bring on new communities, the Cortland Front Door Manager will also assist with the field team to ensure a successful rollout and service launch of additional services and duties which may not pertain to valet trash collection.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Responsible for ensuring satisfactory completion of doorstep trash/recycling collection on all scheduled services in assigned area
  • Conduct on-site quality reviews of team and communities
  • Recruit/train/onboard new staff as well as provide continuing education as needed
  • Track hours for area and submit to managers semi-monthly for payroll processing
  • Monitor staff check in/out and overall time to completion using our proprietary technology
  • Organize and staff rollout/launch of service on new properties
  • Provide on-call support to workforce
  • Manage workforce inventory/supplies; including Uniform, Tote Bags, Fuel, and vehicles.
  • Work collaboratively with other business units as required to serve customer
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a Managerial or Team Lead role
  • Motivated Self-starter with ability to be action-orientated
  • Experienced managing a remote workforce of up to 30 who work 5-7 days a week
  • Intermediate level experience in Recruiting
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Will be required to give constructive feedback and coach employees
  • Flexibly pivots to changing priorities and timelines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills are a must
  • Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Capability to work independently or with a team
  • Ability to build trust and rapport; effectively communicate with co-workers, employees and customers

  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree preferred or workforce experience PERKS
  • Hours and days are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm on average.

Compensation:
Up to $57K annually + up to 10% bonus + Phone Stipend + Company Truck Provided + 20% off rent at select communities.
