Job Description

Job Overview:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Truck Washer / Shop Helper to join our team. At Jacketta Sweeping Service, we provide street sweeping and parking lot sweeping to our customers. This role involves assisting the mechanics in daily tasks, maintaining tools, and keeping the work environment clean and organized. Additionally, the position includes washing and detailing trucks to ensure they are in top condition for operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Truck Washing :
Wash and clean the exterior of trucks, including wheels, windows, and body. Detail the interior of trucks, ensuring they are free of dirt, dust, and debris. Clean engine bays and other accessible parts of vehicles. Ensure all vehicles are washed according to company standards and procedures. Report any damage or issues observed while washing trucks to the supervisor.
Mechanic Assistance :
Assist mechanics with repairs and maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Use company provided software to track repairs and preventative maintenance procedures. Perform basic vehicle diagnostics and repairs under the supervision of the senior mechanic. Clean and organize tools, equipment, and the work area. Assist in the removal and installation of vehicle parts and components. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as changing oil, checking fluid levels, and inspecting tires.
General Maintenance :
Keep the shop and surrounding areas clean, organized, and safe. Remove waste and keep the work environment free from hazardous materials. Assist in maintaining inventory of parts, cleaning supplies and other necessary materials. Perform other duties as required by the supervisor or mechanic.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must be at least 21 years of age. Previous experience in an automotive shop or related field is a plus, but not required. Ability to work in a physically demanding environment. Basic knowledge of truck maintenance and washing techniques is desirable. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Must be reliable and have a good work ethic. Ability to follow instructions. Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 pounds). Basic understanding of safety protocols and equipment handling. Ability to pass a drug test.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in various weather conditions (outdoor truck washing). May require occasional evening or weekend work based on business needs. Ability to work on feet for extended periods. Monday - Friday 10:00 am to 6:30 pm. If you're a dedicated, hands-on individual with a desire to assist in mechanical work and maintain a clean environment, we'd love to have you on our team!
