Detail Technician Schedule:
Tuesday thru Saturday, 8AM•5
PM Summary:
The Detail Technician performs the cleaning of inventory and customer vehicles according to dealership standards or clients' specifications. This may include but is not limited to performing full interior and exterior details, detail inspections, thoroughly washing, buffing exteriors, vacuuming, steaming, rock chip repair, sealant application and deodorizing vehicles.
Wage:
$18•22 DOE hourly to start, move to flat rate after 90 day review
Duties:
Wash and detail each vehicle carefully. Assist in the Pre-Delivery Service. Removing all traces of protective films or covering applied for shipping Prepare new vehicles for final delivery. Carefully remove the monroney sticker and save it for the client, along with any other information stickers applied to the windows Prepare reconditioned vehicles for sale and delivery. Ensure the vehicle is clean and viewed in a brightly lit area. Analyze the paint surface, reclean the vehicle, and reconfirm that the vehicle is in excellent condition Back in and park sold and inventory units in appropriate parking areas. Ensure the windows are closed, the vehicle is secured, and keys are placed in a designated and secure location Support the Service and Sales Department operations with clean and finely detailed vehicles Report vehicle damage to the Detail Supervisor according to the dealership's standard procedure Preset audio system and comfort and convenience features according to dealership policy Provide exceptional customer service Apply sealant to clean vehicle surfaces Perform windshield repairs according to dealership procedure and process Maintain a neat, clean, and professional work environment that dealership personnel can be proud of. Implement professional and personal work habits that promote the safe handling, use, and storage of cleaning materials and motorized equipment. Perform opening shift duties, including but not limited to opening the detail shop, turning on air compressors, and inventory of tools Perform daily cleaning duties, including but not limited to cleaning and sweeping the shop, checking and completing the Delivery List, emptying full garbage, breaking down and recycle cardboard, and organizing shop supplies and tools After 5 pm, close and secure all detail garage and entry doors. Answer extension 131 for all Detail requests, park personal vehicle between detail and recon shops, use the "buddy system" when exiting the shop, utilize the doors between shops only, and report suspicious activity to the Sales Manager Secure all inventory keys in detail vault at all times unless the vehicle is currently in the bay and being detailed Perform closing shift duties, including but not limited to verifying the prep bay tools are clean and in proper areas, parking blockers at all parking lot exits, close and secure blocker vehicles and keys, close and secure building, contact Sales Manager when exiting the building and utilize the "buddy system" when exiting the building Place vehicle blockers at the Carwash driveway, Detail driveway & Scion building ramp The detail shop closes at 8:30 pm Skills & Knowledge Proven work experience as a Car Detailer or similar role preferred Attention to detail with excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including walking, crouching, bending, and standing for extended periods Willingness to comply with all company policies and uphold standards for service quality Availability to work weekends and holidays Relevant training and/or certifications as a Car Detailer Ability to lift at least 50 pounds Must meet the company's requirements for employment Valid driver's license, have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record Ability to drive vehicles including manual transmission vehicles Professional appearance Demonstrate customer service skills Previous industry knowledge is preferred High school diploma or the equivalent Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
