Job Description
Position Summary The Service Van Driver is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment. This role works independently and with other trades to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable electrical codes, company standards, and customer expectations. The Service Van Driver serves as a professional representative of Pieper maintaining strong relationships with customers and facility personnel while conducting business in accordance with PPC and Pieper's mission and vision. Key Responsibilities Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, equipment, appliances, motors, transformers, generators, lighting systems, circuits, and related components. Diagnose electrical malfunctions using a variety of testing equipment and tools. Ensure all new installations and repair work comply with applicable national, state, and local electrical codes and regulations. Interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, work orders, and project documentation to determine work requirements and installation methods. Safely operate and maintain a company service vehicle. Communicate professionally with customers, facility maintenance personnel, project managers, and team members. Provide updates on project status, progress, and completion. Accurately enter and submit time records and required project documentation. Maintain a strong commitment to safety and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures. Collaborate with other trades and team members as needed to ensure successful project completion. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Valid Wisconsin journeyman electrician license is required Master Electrician License preferred. Ability to be on call 1-2 days per month Minimum of four (4) years of electrical experience, or completion of a federally approved technical training program in electrical repair and maintenance plus two (2) years of related experience. IBEW member or ability to join the local IBEW. Previous service truck experience preferred. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to operate a service vehicle. Ability to work independently and effectively troubleshoot customer issues. Thorough knowledge of electrical tools, equipment, materials, and installation methods. Working knowledge of national, state, and local electrical codes, standards, and regulations. Knowledge of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems. Strong skills in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems. Demonstrated commitment to safety, professionalism, and personal integrity.
