Van Driver / Transportation Rehab at Scottsdale Village Square - 3.4 Scottsdale, AZ Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Outdoor work Driver's License Full Job Description The Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting residents to and from scheduled appointments, community outings, and other planned activities. This position plays a vital role in supporting resident independence, ensuring timely transportation, and representing the community with professionalism and courtesy.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate the community van to transport residents to medical appointments, shopping trips, recreational outings, and other destinations as scheduled. Assist residents on and off the vehicle, providing support with mobility aids such as walkers and wheelchairs when needed. Ensure residents are safely secured with seat belts or wheelchair restraints before driving. Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and community policies regarding transportation. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-fueled vehicle; promptly report any maintenance needs or safety concerns. Adhere to scheduled routes and timetables while demonstrating flexibility for unforeseen delays or resident needs. Maintain accurate records of mileage, resident attendance, and trip logs. Provide friendly, respectful, and compassionate interaction with residents, families, and staff. Support activity staff in planning and coordinating transportation for group outings. Respond calmly and appropriately in case of emergencies or resident health concerns during transport.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. must also have an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Compassion, patience, and commitment to serving older adults. Ability to assist residents with mobility safely, including lifting or supporting weight as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, bending, and assisting residents in and out of vehicles. Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds. Tolerance for working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
