Driver (Class B) for Special Education Students 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars Overview We are seeking a skilled, reliable and compassionate Van Driver to join our school team, transporting students with special needs safely to and from school each day. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and committed to ensuring a safe, respectful and supportive enviroment during transport. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families. The Van driver plays an important role in supporting our students' daily routines by ensuring safety, punctuality, and care throughout each trip. If you are dedicated to student safety and enjoy making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, we encourage you to apply. Duties Ensure the safe and timely transportation of students to and from school. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and performance. Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition. Maintain the cleanliness of the van at all times. Report and communicate any maintenance or repair needs promptly Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and school transportation policies. Maintain appropriate speed and drive defensively to ensure student safety. Experience and Qualifications Valid Class B drivers license with passenger endorsement, and clean driving record. Proven experience as a bus driver or in similar driving roles. prior experience driving school-aged children or working with students with special needs preferred. Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
