Full Job Description Job Title:
Transportation Aide Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Transportation Aide for our community-based adult day program. This role is primarily responsible for the safe and timely transportation of individuals to and from their homes and daily community-based activities throughout the service area. The Transportation Aide plays an important role in ensuring individuals arrive safely, on time, and with a positive transportation experience.
Expected Hours:
Approximately 27 hours per week Typical schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-9:30 AM and 1:30 PM-4:00
PM Responsibilities:
Safely transport individuals to and from their homes, program sites, and community-based activities throughout the service area. Assist individuals with safe entry and exit from the vehicle as needed. Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals during transportation at all times. Maintain a calm, supportive, and professional presence during transport. Communicate any transportation delays, incidents, or scheduling concerns to leadership promptly. Perform basic vehicle safety checks and maintain cleanliness of the assigned vehicle. Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company transportation policies. Support morning pick-up and afternoon drop-off routes on a split-shift schedule. Collaborate with direct care staff and leadership regarding transportation logistics and participant needs.
Requirements:
At least 18 years of age. High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Possession of a valid California Driver's License in good standing. Clean driving record and ability to pass driver history screenings. Access to reliable transportation to reporting location. Good physical health verified by a health screening, including a test for tuberculosis. Ability to pass criminal background checks. Current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate and supportive demeanor toward individuals with developmental disabilities. Reliable, punctual, and attentive to safety. Experience driving vans or transporting individuals preferred.
