Job Description
Overview Join our team as a Non-Commercial Driver's License Driver and become a vital part of our transportation network! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for safely operating passenger vehicles, including passenger vans, shuttle buses, and personal delivery vehicles, to transport clients, staff, and goods efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in driving, customer service, and vehicle maintenance will ensure smooth operations across various local routes. Responsibilities Operate a variety of passenger vehicles such as vans, shuttle buses, limousines, and personal delivery cars in accordance with all traffic laws and safety regulations. Safely transport passengers and cargo along designated local routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Adhere strictly to state transportation regulations and company policies to maintain safety standards at all times. Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, avoid delays, and respond effectively to real-time traffic conditions. Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing excellent customer service and ensuring comfort throughout the journey. Perform routine vehicle inspections, basic maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues promptly to maintain vehicle safety and reliability. Handle heavy lifting when necessary for cargo loading/unloading or vehicle maintenance tasks while following proper manual handling procedures. Communicate clearly with clients and team members via radio or other communication devices to coordinate schedules and address any operational concerns. Maintain accurate logs of trips, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle condition reports for compliance purposes. Experience Proven delivery driver experience with a strong understanding of local driving routes and navigation tools such as GPS systems. Experience operating passenger vehicles including vans, shuttle buses, limousines, or school buses; chauffeur or paratransit driving experience is highly desirable. Familiarity with manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks related to cargo or vehicle maintenance. Knowledge of state transportation regulations governing commercial driving and passenger vehicle operation. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse clients and passengers. Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and identify mechanical issues early. Previous experience in medical transportation or client-specific driver roles is a plus but not required.
