Mobile Van Driver

POSITION SUMMARY

Community Connect Mobile RV strengthens communities by providing access to health care where they live, work, attend school, and participate in community events. The Outreach Driver is an essential part of the Outreach team. The Outreach Driver must be prepared and have a flexible schedule. The specific hours of operation vary week to week based on the event scheduled. The events are usually scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:00 am-6:00 pm and 9:00-3:00 on Saturday, with very few events on Sunday.

Principle duties and responsibilities:

1. Must have a clean driving record. 2. Must have experience driving an RV 38 feet or longer. 3. Drive and maneuver the RV in parking lots, parallel parking in short spaces. 4. Driving in difficult conditions, including but not limited to congested urban traffic under construction, high winds, etc. 5. Will be responsible for keeping RV clean and disinfecting, this includes safely cleaning/disinfecting examination tables and handling bio-hazard materials including but not limited to used syringes and supplies, gauze, and pads contaminated by human body fluids and other infectious materials. 6. Experience pulling or towing a midsize camper. 7. Will drive and have other FCHC vehicles serviced. 8. Interact with patients and their families, staff, and others from other organizations, and all others always in a manner that reflects the mission of Family Christian Health Center, (FCHC). 9. Assist with logistics, setup, and breakdown of the RV, tents, tables, chairs, and signage. 10. Understand where medical equipment and supplies, and general equipment and supplies are located on the RV. 11. Be capable of operating all equipment on board the RV including but not limited to mobile refrigerators and freezers, GPS devices, satellite phones, fire extinguishers, tables, and all other equipment not requiring medical training. 12. Ensure cold-chain protocols are followed. 13. And any other duties assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

1. Maintain a driver's license and ability to drive an RV that is 38 feet or larger 2. Maintain a clean driving record. 3. Ability to install equipment, and basic knowledge of electric, plumbing, and carpentry. 4. Ability to plan and prioritize and complete project schedules, maintain required records and logs. 5. Interpersonal skills necessary to gather and exchange information with variety of staff.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands here represent those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this position successfully. 1. While performing the required duties, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, hear, and see closely to examine equipment parts. 2. Capable of lifting a minimum of fifty pounds. 3. Ability to climb stairs (ascend and descend). 4. Ability to reach and grab with arms and hands, and manual dexterity to operate hand and power tools. 5. Ability to push or pull, utility cart, and other equipment as necessary.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissues.
