Part-Time Position Summary Jefferson Council on Aging (JCOA) is seeking a reliable and compassionate Driver to transport seniors safely to and from designated Senior Centers, meal sites, and special events. This role plays a vital part in supporting the independence and well-being of older adults in our community. Key Responsibilities Safely transport clients to and from their homes, Senior Centers, and approved events Drive defensively and comply with all traffic laws, including cell phone regulations Ensure each participant is picked up and dropped off at their designated locations Treat all participants with dignity, patience, and respect Complete transportation logs, mileage reports, and required documentation accurately Report all incidents or accidents promptly and complete required forms Participate in required training programs to enhance job performance Use company-issued credit card responsibly and submit electronic receipts Vehicle CareMaintenance Maintain accurate daily and monthly mileage and fuel records Ensure timely oil changes, lubrication, and annual brake tag updates Report maintenance and repair needs immediately Keep the vehicle clean, safe, and in proper working condition (interior and exterior) Qualifications Valid Louisiana driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to pass background and drug screening Basic reading and writing skills in English Knowledge of local geography preferred Familiarity with vehicle maintenance and 2-way radio operation Ability to follow all JCOA Vehicle Management Policies Preferred Experience CPR, First Aid, Defensive Driving (DDC), and PASS certification (training available) Experience working with or understanding the needs of elderly individuals Physical Requirements Ability to frequently enter and exit the vehicle Comfortable working in varying weather conditions Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, push, and pull as needed Good vision and hearing, including the ability to adjust focus What We Offer Meaningful work serving the senior community Supportive team environment Training and development opportunities Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
