MUST HAVE YOUR OWN VEHICLE
with valid insurance. We are seeking independent contractors who own their own transportation, preferably wheelchair-accessible vehicles or spacious vans suitable for client transport. We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Wheelchair Driver to join our transportation team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting individuals with mobility challenges to and from various destinations, ensuring a comfortable and reliable experience. Your enthusiasm for customer service, combined with strong driving skills, will help us deliver exceptional care and support to our clients. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact in the community while honing your driving and communication skills. Duties Safely operate wheelchair accessible vehicles, including shuttle buses, paratransit vans, and limousine-style transport vehicles. Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. Transport clients to scheduled appointments, medical facilities, community centers, or other designated locations promptly and courteously. Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal safety and performance. Communicate clearly with passengers, dispatchers, and team members to coordinate schedules and address any special needs or concerns. Handle heavy lifting when assisting passengers with mobility devices or luggage while maintaining proper safety protocols. Maintain accurate logs of trips, passenger details, and vehicle condition reports in compliance with company policies. Skills Proven experience in shuttle driving, delivery driving, bus driving, or similar commercial driving roles. Strong knowledge of local routes, traffic laws, and safety regulations related to passenger transportation. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with passengers of diverse backgrounds. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when assisting passengers or handling equipment. Familiarity with vehicle maintenance routines and troubleshooting basic mechanical issues. Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor. Experience in paratransit services or school bus driving is highly desirable for this role.
