Job Title:
Event Staff Scope:
Event Staff are responsible for assisting at school events, reporting and assisting with safety concerns, maintaining the orderly operation of events, enforcing school district policy as assigned. Training is required.
Certification/Education/Qualifications/Work Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Ability to acquire and maintain first aid, CPR and AED certification
  • Security, law enforcement and/or EMT experience preferred
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Perform basic mathematics
  • Read and comprehend proficiently
  • Understand and communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Anticipate, assess and solve routine problems and job specific problems
  • Build and maintain effective relationship with students, staff and the community
  • Demonstrate knowledge of district procedures and an aptitude for successful completion of tasks
  • Ability to work under limited supervision Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assisting in providing a safe and secure environment.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with event attendees and participants
  • Address and report unauthorized and unruly persons and check for passes or identification cards
  • Observe and assist in regulating spectator behavior on campus, in buildings, parking lots and other open areas
  • Ensure gates/doors are locked and opened at designated times for events
  • Assist Security Guards and law enforcement officers as directed by the Superintendent and/or the SRO\Direct traffic and parking at events and check vehicles for parking authorization or for parking in restricted areas
  • Follow district policies and administrative rules and regulations
  • Assist in supervising assigned school events and activities
  • Observe and report violations of safety and law to Head Security Guard, Administration, SRO and local police as appropriate
  • Create and maintain a working relationship with local police, fire and EMS departments
  • Will work a schedule of events as assigned by the event staff coordinator.
  • Maintain and project a professional appearance as it relates to the job
  • Wear approved uniform at all events
  • Prepare for events as assigned
NO FIREARMS
will be authorized or carried at any time in the performance of duties
  • Direct traffic as needed
  • Prepare documentation as needed (incident reports, logs, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned Physical Requirements
  • Standing or walking for long periods of time
  • Lifting and carrying, reaching, squatting, climbing stairs, kneeling and moving furniture or equipment
  • Must be able to work in heat or cold (outside seasonal temperatures)
  • Attend work regularly
  • Attendance at evening and weekend meetings, events and activities directly relating to job responsibilities
  • Must be able to work in noisy and crowded environments
