St Joseph Village is hiring immediately for a full time Transportation Driver. M-F 8 to 5 with some Saturdays for Outings/Special events. Flexible time on Saturdays based off outings/events. •500 Sign on bonus•
Job Overview:
As a Transportation Driver for St Joseph Village, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting residents to and from appointments, activities, and outings. You will ensure that residents experience a comfortable and dignified journey, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining the highest standards of care. You will also assist residents with boarding, disembarking, and supporting their needs during transportation. Additionally, you may be required to assist with community activities and events that involve resident participation, providing support and mobility assistance as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Resident Transport:
Transport residents to and from medical appointments, social activities, shopping trips, and other scheduled outings in a safe and courteous manner.
Safety:
Ensure all safety measures are in place, including seat belts, ensuring the vehicle is in good working condition, and monitoring residents for any potential health concerns during transport.
Vehicle Maintenance:
Perform basic maintenance checks on the facility's transportation vehicles, including cleaning, fueling, checking oil, tires, and reporting any mechanical issues.
Resident Assistance:
Assist residents with boarding, securing mobility aids (wheelchairs, walkers), and ensuring their comfort throughout the ride.
Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of trips, including times, destinations, and special accommodations required for residents.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with the transportation coordinator, staff, and family members as necessary regarding resident transportation needs.
Compliance:
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and the company's policies regarding transportation of vulnerable individuals. Community Activities Support (Optional): As needed, may be required to assist with community activities or events that involve resident participation, including but not limited to helping with mobility, socializing, and providing transport for on-site or off-site activities.
Required Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a transportation role, preferably in healthcare, senior living, or a similar field. Commercial Driver's License (CDL): A valid CDL with appropriate endorsements (Class C or higher) is required.
CPR and First Aid Certification:
Must be able to pass CPR/First Aid training (company-provided).
Clean Driving Record:
A valid driver's license and a clean driving record (no major violations or accidents in the past 3-5 years).
Background Check:
Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug screening as required by the company.

Strong Interpersonal Skills:
Ability to interact compassionately and professionally with elderly residents, family members, and staff. Attention to
Detail:
Ability to perform vehicle inspections, follow safety protocols, and maintain accurate records.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to assist residents with mobility and load/unload passengers as needed.
Time Management:
Ability to manage a schedule and make adjustments as needed to accommodate the needs of residents.
Working Conditions:
Regular work hours are required, with occasional overtime based on facility needs. Some weekends and evenings may be required. This position involves both indoor and outdoor work, including exposure to weather conditions during transportation.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and assist residents, up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat in assisting with resident mobility. Ability to seat for extended period of time.
