Gracious Gifts Child Development Center Overview Gracious Gifts Child Development Center is seeking a dedicated and energetic Child Development Driver to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely transporting children to and from our childcare facilities, school programs, and community activities. Your enthusiasm for working with children, combined with strong driving skills and excellent communication abilities, will help create a nurturing and secure environment for our young learners. Duties Safely operate various types of vehicles, including school buses, paratransit vans, and center vehicles, to transport children and families Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during pickups, drop offs, and transit routes Communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners to coordinate schedules and address any concerns Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and report maintenance needs promptly Assist with behavior management by providing a calm and positive presence during transit Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and safety checks Support childcare programming by fostering a welcoming and safe environment during transportation Ensure the safety and well being of children at all times Qualifications / Experience Must meet Wisconsin Registry requirements for childcare staff (or willingness to obtain) Valid driver's license appropriate for the vehicle type (school bus, van, or commercial vehicle as required) Proven experience in bus driving, commercial driving, or school transportation preferred Strong communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus Experience working with children or in childcare settings, demonstrating patience and nurturing qualities Basic mechanical knowledge or familiarity with vehicle maintenance is preferred Customer service experience to effectively engage with parents and community members Knowledge of behavior management techniques for young children Ability to multitask while maintaining safety in a fast paced environment

Pay:

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
