Category Nursing - RN-ER Job Type Travel An opportunity is available for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join a critical access hospital's Emergency Room team, supporting a 10-bed acute/swing bed setting with an attached ER hall that includes a trauma bay, two treatment rooms, and a triage area. This role focuses on delivering patient-centered care by utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate emergency nursing interventions. Schedule/Hours Contract-based assignment with variable shifts as determined by department need Qualifications and Desired Experience Active RN license Experience in Emergency Room nursing and critical care Strong assessment, communication, and collaboration skills Current working knowledge of ER equipment, instrumentation, and medications Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and adherence to PPE protocols Responsibilities Conduct ongoing physical and psychosocial assessments throughout the care continuum Develop and implement patient care plans, involving patients, families, and the healthcare team Coordinate and delegate care based on clinical priorities and patient needs Execute provider-ordered interventions and document progression accurately Actively communicate patients' care plans and any significant changes with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families Support performance improvement and risk management initiatives Provide education to patients, families, staff, and students as needed Utilize information systems for continuous improvement of care delivery Ensure compliance with hospital standards, policies, and regulatory requirements Maintain attendance, punctuality, and participate in required training and departmental meetings This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a dynamic rural hospital setting, working closely with fellow RNs, CNAs, and administrative staff.
