Job Description

The Medication/Treatment Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect nursing care to residents during the assigned shift in a long-term care intermediate facility. This role includes medication administration, resident assessments, documentation, coordination of care, and supervision of nursing assistants to ensure quality resident care and safety. Key Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to residents in the LTC intermediate facility. Assign, direct, and supervise resident care activities performed by CNAs and other support staff. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians. Monitor residents' conditions and document changes, concerns, and interventions in nursing notes. Notify physicians, families, and MDPOA regarding resident status changes, new orders, or significant updates in a timely manner. Report resident or staffing concerns to the Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), and/or Resident Care Coordinator. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of medications, treatments, incidents, doctor visits, passes, and resident returns. Promote teamwork and effective communication between departments and shifts. Ensure compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and regulatory guidelines. Attend required meetings, trainings, and educational sessions. Support the Memory Care Unit as needed while maintaining assigned responsibilities. Perform Treatment Nurse duties or work alternate shifts as required by facility needs. When both an RN and LPN are on duty, the RN will function as Charge Nurse and supervise the LPN. Maintain regular attendance and punctuality. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements Active RN or LPN License Previous Long-Term Care (LTC) experience preferred Strong medication administration and documentation skills Ability to supervise and lead CNA staff Excellent communication and teamwork skills Compassionate and resident-focused approach to care

$1,300.00 - $1,548.00 per hour
