Job Description

Category Therapy - Hospital - OT Job Type Travel Providing skilled occupational therapy services in a home health setting, this travel position based in La Harpe, IL, focuses on rehabilitating orthopedic and deconditioned patients. The role emphasizes coaching patients in essential life skills such as bathing, cooking, and dressing to support independent living at home. Candidates with experience or interest in lymphedema management and pediatric patients are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct 4-5 patient visits per day with an emphasis on orthopedics and deconditioned conditions. Provide therapy aimed at enhancing daily living skills and patient independence. Document supervisory visits for patients also managed by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs). Utilize web-based EMR systems and mobile devices for charting and remote scheduling. Maintain effective communication with physicians and office staff, including faxing and attending occasional office meetings. Adhere to strict organizational standards to manage documentation and scheduling efficiently.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist with current credentials. Experience working with orthopedic, deconditioned, and lymphedema patients preferred. Willingness to work with pediatric patients, demonstrating no age restrictions. Ability to perform supervisory visits and documentation for COTA caseloads. New graduates may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Strong organizational skills and comfort with technology including iPads and web-based EMR systems.
Schedule/Hours:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Approximately 72 hours per pay period

This role offers reimbursable mileage at 0.725 per mile to support transportation between patient visits.
