Schedule:
Night shifts, 7:00 PM•7:00
AM Key Qualifications:
Active RN license (Nursing•RN•MS Oncology) Minimum of 1 year recent, acute-care Oncology nursing experience in a hospital setting Current BLS certification Strong clinical skills and ability to manage acutely ill hematology patients
Preferred Experience:
Chemo and biotherapy certification (not required to administer chemotherapy, but a plus) Step-down experience and comfort with advanced standing orders (e.g., fluid bolus, managing first fever) Compassion and adaptability; dedication to serving oncology patients with empathy and resilience
Unit Highlights & Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care on an 18-bed Blood Cancer Unit utilizing the latest medical equipment (telemetry, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps) Collaborate with a close-knit group of expert RNs and skilled CNAs—supported by a dedicated night shift charge nurse Maintain patient ratios of 3-4:1 for focused, high-quality care Participate in advanced procedures including lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy (with/without sedation), and thoracentesis Administer and monitor blood products and electrolyte replacements per evidence-based protocols Benefit from robust education on safe handling of hazardous agents, with support for professional development This is an outstanding setting for nurses who thrive in fast-paced, technologically advanced environments with a culture rooted in mutual support, growth, and clinical excellence.
