Role Highlights:

Act as the patient's advocate throughout all operative phases, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity. Prepare and organize the OR suite, maintaining strict adherence to aseptic/sterile techniques. Coordinate the surgical team, anticipate procedural needs, verify counts, and manage supplies and documentation. Monitor patient status, collaborate with anesthesia providers, and respond to intraoperative emergencies. Accurately document all aspects of intraoperative care using electronic health records. Facilitate postoperative care transitions, participate in quality improvement, and comply with regulatory standards. Collaborate flexibly with a multidisciplinary team, occasionally assisting in pre-op or PACU.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited ADN or BSN program (BSN preferred). Current, unrestricted RN license (NM or compact state). BLS (AHA) and ACLS required (may obtain ACLS within 6 months). PALS and CNOR certifications preferred. Minimum 1-2 years' experience as an OR Circulator strongly preferred; critical access or rural hospital experience a plus. Proven knowledge of perioperative standards, attention to detail, and EMR proficiency.
