Travel PACU Nurse (RN) - Thomasville, North Carolina

Category Nursing - RN-PACU Job Type Travel Exciting contract opportunity available for an experienced RN with a background in Pediatric Post Anesthesia Care. This position plays a key role in providing high-quality care to pediatric patients recovering from surgery, covering a wide range of surgical specialties in a dynamic, collaborative unit.

Schedule/Hours:

Contract position with flexible scheduling based on unit needs

Qualifications:

Active RN license Minimum 1 year pediatric critical care experience required; 2 years preferred Prior completion of at least one travel assignment is mandatory Current BLS and PALS certifications Strong skills in managing ICU-type drips (heparin, insulin, occasional cardiac drips) Comfortable with telemetry monitoring; familiarity with electronic medical records (EPIC) Effective communicator, collaborative team member, resourceful and proactive Willingness to occasionally care for adult patients if required

Responsibilities:

Provide safe, attentive recovery care to pediatric patients ages 0-17, both inpatient and outpatient Monitor post-anesthesia recovery, manage pain and post-operative symptoms Assess patient status and administer medications as ordered, utilizing Alaris IV pumps and Omnicell medication dispensing systems Document in

EPIC EMR

system, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness Collaborate in an open-bay team setting, supporting colleagues and maintaining patient safety Partner closely with dedicated charge nurse, PACU educator, and other support staff Float to care for adult patients on occasion, according to unit needs
