Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-PICU Job Type Travel Experience the charm and culture of Derby, KS, while advancing your nursing career in a leading Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. This travel assignment offers the perfect blend of professional growth and personal adventure, putting you at the heart of a respected Level II Trauma center where you will collaborate alongside teams dedicated to exceptional pediatric care. As a member of this dynamic PICU unit, you'll have the opportunity to broaden your expertise within a 15-bed unit supported by 38 skilled staff members, including intensivists, respiratory therapists, and case managers. Exposure to Meditech/CPN EMR and state-of-the-art monitoring equipment, coupled with the hands-on experience typical of a teaching hospital, makes this role a valuable addition to your resume. The 2:1 patient ratio enables you to deliver high-quality care, further developing your critical thinking and leadership skills in a high-acuity environment. During your downtime, explore nearby parks, vibrant local eateries, and rich regional history, making each day off a well-deserved adventure.
Schedule/Hours:
Night shifts: 7 PM - 7
AM Qualifications:
Active RN license (unencumbered) Minimum 1 year of current, acute care hospital experience in
PICU BLS & PALS
certification required
Preferred:
CRRT experience, APHON, prior Pediatric Teaching Hospital exposure
Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in a Level II Trauma PICU Collaborate closely with intensivists, RTs, and a multidisciplinary team Perform IV starts, blood draws, and TPT placements Consistently prioritize patient care and work well under pressure
