Schedule 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Three shifts per week Qualifications Active RN license in KS or Compact state BLS certification At least 2 years of psychiatric nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred Skilled in assessments for psychiatric disposition and working with violent patients Experience coordinating with Behavioral Response Teams and collaborating with hospital staff Highly independent, with strong psychiatric clinical decision-making skills Core Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care for high-risk psychiatric patients in the ED, including administration of medications, de-escalation, and restraint management Assess all psychiatric patients entering the ER, determine disposition, and coordinate placement, safety, and transport as needed Lead and respond to Behavioral Response Team calls, collaborating with security, nurse managers, and bedside staff to ensure hospital safety Holiday coverage as required by unit needs Perks and Benefits Travel perks, including tax-advantaged stipends and comprehensive travel assistance Premium compensation Healthcare benefits (medical, dental, vision) 401(k) plan for future planning Job security within a respected facility Networking opportunities and exposure to diverse clinical leadership styles Elevate your nursing career with this pivotal psychiatric nursing role. to embark on a professionally rewarding adventure in Kansas City!
