Responsibilities include:
Deliver intensive respiratory care and patient transportation within professional licensure guidelines, with minimal supervision. Assess patients and recommend treatment plans aligned with physician directives. Clearly explain procedures, equipment, and treatments to patients; provide relevant education upon discharge. Administer prescribed medications and therapies using invasive/non-invasive ventilation, humidification, and oxygenation devices. Perform chest physiotherapy and patient suctioning as indicated. Conduct oximetry and capnography monitoring in line with hospital policies. Review and interpret chest x-rays, assist with pulmonary procedures (e.g., bronchoscopy, trach care, chest tube placement). Conduct pulmonary function studies, 12-lead EKG, and basic arrhythmia recognition. Manage arterial punctures, ventilatory equipment, and ensure timely maintenance/repair. Document and report all relevant respiratory care measures, collaborate with physicians, and participate in shift handoffs.Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Current BLS and ACLS certification. Experience with critical care/rehabilitation settings preferred. Proficient with a wide range of ventilatory and respiratory therapy equipment. Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
