Schedule/Hours:
Travel assignment; flexible scheduling may be available.
Qualifications:
Registered Respiratory Therapist credential. Active professional licensure in Respiratory Therapy. Prior experience with adult critical illness and rehabilitation settings preferred. BLS and ACLS certification required. Strong understanding of both invasive and non-invasive ventilatory devices. Competency in 12-Lead EKG, arrhythmia recognition, and pulmonary function testing. Excellent communication and patient education skills.
Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality respiratory care with minimal supervision, including intensive care and patient transport. Assess patients, recommend individualized treatment plans, and provide thorough explanation of procedures and equipment. Administer physician-prescribed treatments, including mechanical ventilation, nebulizer therapy, and chest physiotherapy. Perform suctioning, oximetry, capnography monitoring, and review of chest radiographs. Conduct pulmonary function studies and assist with medical procedures such as bronchoscopies, tracheostomies, and chest tube placements. Manage arterial punctures, ventilatory equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Collaborate closely with physicians, accurately document care, and maintain precise hand-off communications during shift changes. Uphold hospital laboratory standards and assist in cardiopulmonary resuscitation as required.
