Qualifications:
Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential Current state license to practice as a Respiratory Therapist (or eligibility to obtain) Advanced knowledge of cardiopulmonary care, including assessment, treatment, and patient monitoring Strong communication and teaching skills for effective patient and family education Ability to adapt and float to other departments as needed Clinical leadership or mentoring experience preferred
Responsibilities:
Perform, interpret, and evaluate cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and arterial gas procedures Oversee, troubleshoot, and optimize respiratory equipment Administer medications, evaluate effects, and follow up per protocols Communicate patient progress to multidisciplinary teams and recommend care adjustments Educate patients and families on health promotion, wellness, and self-care Complete accurate documentation and monitor supply inventory Participate in departmental quality, safety, and process improvement initiatives Serve as a resource and mentor to staff, contributing to ongoing professional development
