Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-MS Job Type Travel Explore the vibrant region of Chesterfield, VA—rich in history and nestled near natural parks, rivers, and charming downtown areas. As a traveler here, you'll not only expand your clinical skills in a mixed Med Surg/Telemetry environment, but also immerse yourself in a community that offers plenty to discover during your downtime, from scenic trails to unique dining. This opportunity gives you an exceptional chance to broaden your nursing expertise by working on a high-acuity 30-bed mixed Med Surg/Telemetry unit, where you'll care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients—including those with pre/post hemodialysis and CAPD. Engaging with diverse clinical workflows and care models broadens your adaptability, enhances your leadership skills, and adds valuable depth to your resume.
Schedule:
12-hour day shifts Every other weekend Major holidays required
Qualifications:
Active RN license (either VA or compact) Minimum 1 year recent acute care experience and 1 year of travel experience BLS certification required; ACLS, CCRN, PCCN, and NIH Stroke Certification preferred Strong Med Surg/Telemetry experience; CAPD familiarity a plus Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided in advance) Excellent assessment, communication, and critical thinking abilities
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive assessments and prioritize care using evidence-based practice Administer medications and manage patients on BiPAP, CPAP, trachs, chest tubes, and tube feeds Serve as patient and family advocate, collaborating throughout the interdisciplinary team Proactively adapt to rapidly changing patient conditions and unit needs, including floating to other units Contribute to ongoing quality initiatives and foster a culture of safety
