1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg travel position at a Level IV Trauma Center in Sheboygan, WI, requiring at least 2 years of experience and proficiency in a range of acute care skills. Details 101-bed hospital with a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center designation 24-bed Med/Surg unit serving orthopedic (total hip/knee replacements, spinal surgeries) and general med/surg patients (CHF, COPD, respiratory, kidney, liver, and GI conditions) Patient ratios: 1:4-5 on days/evenings and 1:5 on nights Evening shift: 1500-0300, 36 hours/week (3x12-hour shifts) Available shift times include 0700-1900, 1500-0300, 1900-0700, and 0300-1500 Weekend rotation every third weekend No on-call requirements May float within scope of practice to MS1, Cardiac MS2, or
ED Holding EMR:
Epic (experience preferred) IV pump: Alaris; medication dispensing: Pyxis 13-week contract Requirements Active WI or compact RN license required BLS required; NIHSS preferred Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience required, with most recent experience within the last year Proficiency in PIV starts, wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, chest tubes, and stable trach management Experience managing patients on BiPAP/CPAP Experience with insulin and heparin drips 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN collected within the last year required for consideration Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration Additional Information CNA support available at a 1:5-10 ratio (depending on shift) for vitals, blood glucose, and IV removals HUC support available on days and part-time on evenings; charge nurse carries a modified patient assignment Phlebotomy available for peripheral lab draws; House Supervisor notified for difficult IV access (no IV/VAT team) Respiratory therapy, hospitalist coverage available 24/7;
OT/PT/ST
available on weekdays Orientation includes facility NEO and 1-2 12-hour shifts on the unit Schedule is made in 4-6 week increments and provided at least 2 weeks in advance Up to 3 holidays may be required during the contract (Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, NYE, New Year's Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day) Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved Any solid, professional scrub color is acceptable Free parking available on-site Local candidates are accepted First-time travelers are welcome to apply Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible
