Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are ready for procedures. Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques during treatments and procedures. Anticipate surgeons' needs and provide instruments and retractors efficiently. Collaborate with nursing and surgical staff to position, prep, and drape patients. Handle and care for specimens appropriately, with attention to documentation and accuracy. Sterilize equipment, manage operating room counts, and handle post-operative clean-up. Respond sensitively to patient needs, providing reassurance and informing clinical staff of concerns. Maintain open communication and effective teamwork with surgical, nursing, and leadership teams.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program. Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA. Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Professionalism, clinical adaptability, and strong communication skills across age groups.
