Job Description

At Southwestern Electric Cooperative, we power more than just homes we power communities, progress, and possibilities. As a member of our Forestry department, you'll play an essential role in maintaining our distributions system in accordance with our vegetation management program, helping to ensure SWECI can provide the best possible electrical service to our membership.
Key Responsibilities:
Cooperates with the public when working on or around their land to develop and maintain a good relationship between co-op, customers and the public. Identifies the vegetation that needs removal and/or maintenance. Performs ROW clearance, tree removal and chemical application.
Qualifications:
Must be a qualified forestry journeyman by completing an accredited apprentice program. Must have a valid Class A CDL in the State of Illinois. Must possess State of Illinois Commercial Not-for-hire Applicator and Operator Licenses. Should have an effective working knowledge of ANSI A300, ANSI1, cutting, herbicides and other commonly used ROW clearing methods. Possess Flagger Certification, Fork Lift Certification as well as CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification; all may be obtained through the cooperative. Must live within 30 miles of the reporting warehouse. The Cooperative Difference We are built and led by the members we serve.
