- Contract Position Title Tree Trimmer / Crew Leader Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and experienced Tree Trimmer / Crew Leader to join our team.
This position is responsible for safely trimming and removing trees, roping and rigging limbs, operating tree care equipment, maintaining clean and safe job sites, leading crew members, and providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, physically capable, professional with customers, and motivated to help grow the business through quality work and upselling additional services when appropriate. Key Responsibilities Tree Care & Removal Trim, prune, and shape trees according to safety standards and customer specifications Perform tree removals using proper climbing, cutting, and rigging techniques Rope, lower, and rig limbs safely to avoid property damage Operate chainsaws, pole saws, chippers, stump grinders, and other tree service equipment Identify hazardous trees, dead limbs, and potential safety risks Assist with storm cleanup and emergency tree removal services when needed Ground Crew & Site Cleanup Maintain a clean and organized work site during and after each job Remove brush, limbs, logs, and debris from customer properties Feed brush into chippers and assist with loading/unloading equipment Ensure all tools, vehicles, and equipment are cleaned and maintained properly Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines Leadership Responsibilities Lead and direct crew members on daily job assignments Promote a safe, productive, and respectful work environment Train and mentor less experienced crew members Communicate effectively with management regarding job progress, equipment needs, and safety concerns Ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to company standards Customer Service & Sales Interact professionally and respectfully with customers on-site Answer customer questions regarding tree care and maintenance Identify opportunities to upsell additional services such as: Tree removal Stump grinding Brush removal Preventative trimming Storm preparation Property cleanup Represent the company positively at all times Qualifications Previous experience in tree trimming, tree removal, or arborist work preferred Experience climbing and rigging trees strongly preferred Ability to safely operate chainsaws and tree equipment Valid driver's license preferred (CDL is a plus) Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding labor Knowledge of tree safety practices and equipment maintenance Preferred Skills Knot tying and advanced rigging techniques Experience operating bucket trucks, chippers, or skid steers Basic knowledge of tree species and tree health Work Environment Outdoor work in all weather conditions Physically demanding position requiring climbing, lifting, bending, and standing for long periods Exposure to heights, power equipment, and hazardous conditions requiring strict safety compliance Compensation $40
- 50/hr based on experience.
