Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Telephone Triage & Patient Communication :

Conducts phone triage by assessing patient needs, recording/reporting conditions, returning calls, providing test results, and educating patients based on provider guidance.

Patient Education & Care Coordination :

Educates patients and families per provider direction, recommends community resources, and coordinates follow-up care including referrals and missed appointments.

Clinical Support & Documentation :

Prepares patients and exam rooms, assists providers with procedures, gathers medical history and vitals, and ensures accurate and timely documentation using protocols like SBAR.

Prescription & Medication Management :

Manages prescription renewals and pharmacy communications, dispenses medications under provider instruction, and provides patient medication education.

Lab Work & Specimen Handling :

Performs phlebotomy, labels and processes specimens, completes requisitions, and adheres to quality control standards.

Environmental & Equipment Maintenance :

Keeps work areas clean and organized, stocks supplies, and ensures equipment is ready for use per protocols.

Patient-Centered & Age-Specific Care :

Delivers care appropriate to each patient's age and needs, ensuring comfort, understanding, and compliance with treatment plans.

• Monday through Friday, hours between 8am
• 5pm (In person attendance required)

Salary:

Pay starts at $34.00 an hour and may increase based on work history/experience.

Job Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) required. Minimum 1 year clinical experience required. Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire. Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license, valid compact multistate license, or a temporary permit while awaiting licensure required. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures required. Knowledge of medicine including recognizing and diagnosed diseases, deformities, and other illnesses. Skill to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks. Skill to proficiently type information into the computer to capture or detail information quickly. Ability to provide caring patient care services when talking with patients and their family members. Ability to critically listen to questions from patients and information from providers to convey information effectively. Ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve problems before they occur and avoid bigger problems in the future. Ability to problem solve during several daily activities which includes the ability to be flexible. Ability to learn and proficiently navigate through computer programs that contain patient information. Strong verbal communication skills for positive interaction with providers, staff and patients required. Able to follow written and verbal instructions/directions required. HIPAA understanding.
