  • What We Are Looking For
  • An individual to operate a self-contained truck with a hydraulic bucket.
You will perform tree trimming, pruning, removal and clearing of trees and brush supporting vegetation management operations. Duties will include operating the bucket to safely and position in accordance with the required distance necessary to operate within the minimum approach distance of energized utility lines and critical infrastructure.
  • What You Will Do
  • + Work in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site or traffic laws + Drive truck to and from worksites in adherence to safe practices, procedures, work site, and traffic laws + Operate boom by moving levers and/or depressing pedals to maneuver + Perform from a bucket supervised tree trimming, pruning, removal and clearing of trees and brush + Must maintain certification and qualification to work within the minimum approach distance of energized power lines + Perform tree and job site inspections to identify hazards, disease, risks, or concerns impacting safe climbing operations + Perform safe operations of chainsaws, lifts, chippers, and on highway vehicles + Perform tree identification, growth pattern identification and tree assessments + Identify electrical equipment and associated hazards or risks + Maintain knowledge of industry best practices for tree trimming, pruning and removal + Maintain knowledge and required inspection of climb gear, equipment, and proper utilization + Must work well within a team to complete projects and tasks + Must be able to work outdoors, year-round in varying environments + Must be able to work in, around and amongst poisonous plants and noxious vegetation + Function in a strenuous and dangerous work environment + Complete work projects on time and in an effective manner + Grease, oil, and perform minor repairs.
Fuel and service equipment as required + Inform and advise management or repair technician for major repairs or maintenance + Perform daily inspections and maintenance evaluations/checks on all equipment before and after use + Understand and perform various daily and weekly assignments from oral or written communication. + Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly + Adhere to all company safety standards/policies and applicable OSHA regulations + Maintain effective working relationship with co-workers + Other duties may be assigned
  • Required Qualifications
  • +
Education:
High School Diploma or GED + 1+ years of bucket truck operating experience within 10 feet of energized electrical power lines with boom length of 75 - 100 feet + Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions + Use equipment and materials properly + Competent in required job skills and knowledge + Meet productivity standards, complete work in timely manner + Follow instructions and exhibit sound and accurate judgment + Observe safety and security procedures; use equipment and materials properly + Consistently at work and on time + Electrical Hazard Awareness Program (EHAP) Training
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + Ability to climb + ISA Certified Arborist + ISA Certified Utility Arborist + Certified Tree Safety Professional (CTSP) +
Commercial Driver License:
Class A + Qualified Applicator License (QAL) + Qualified Applicator License (QAC) + Prioritize and plan work activities + Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness.
  • What to Expect
  • This role involves operating a bucket truck to perform tree trimming, pruning, and removal in support of vegetation management around utility infrastructure.
You'll work outdoors year-round in physically demanding and potentially hazardous conditions, often near energized power lines. Daily tasks include driving to job sites, operating hydraulic equipment, handling tools like chainsaws and chippers, and conducting safety and equipment inspections. Safety is a top priority, and you'll be expected to follow strict procedures, maintain required certifications, and stay aware of electrical and environmental hazards. The work is hands-on and team-oriented, requiring reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to complete jobs efficiently while maintaining high safety standards.
