Job Description
Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and DOT regulationsPlan and execute optimal routes to meet delivery schedules and minimize fuel consumptionPerform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify maintenance issues and ensure roadworthinessMaintain accurate logbooks, delivery records, and documentation in compliance with federal regulationsCommunicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and management regarding delivery status and any issues encounteredLoad and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper weight distribution and cargo securityMaintain a clean driving record and demonstrate responsible behavior on and off the roadRespond promptly to roadside emergencies and follow proper safety protocolsConduct vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking tire pressure, fluid levels, and brake systemsQualificationsValid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) appropriate for the vehicle class being operatedCurrent DOT medical certificationClean driving record with no major violations in the past three to five yearsMinimum of two years of commercial truck driving experienceDemonstrated knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and DOT compliance requirementsStrong time management and organizational skillsAbility to read maps and use GPS navigation systems effectivelyExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPhysical capability to perform loading, unloading, and vehicle maintenance tasksProficiency in basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshootingAbility to work independently and manage long hours on the road
Preferred:
Experience with hazardous materials (HAZMAT) certification or specialized cargo handlingPreferred:
