Position Summary :
The truck driver is responsible for driving commercial vehicles to transport loads from one location to another, and to do so safely, courteously, while obeying all traffic regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operating a Belly Dump Truck or a Vacuum Truck safely and courteously. Obeying and following applicable traffic laws Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle as may be needed. Maintaining a log of working hours in compliance with regulations. Performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections as required. Ensuring any mechanical issues with the vehicle are corrected before driving. Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules. Complying with Federal Motor Carrier Act regulations. Reporting defects, accidents and violations. Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc.) Collaborating with customers in a professional manner. Verifying cargo/loads for accuracy. Completing all required paperwork as required by the company. Perform other duties as assigned by the company.
Education and Professional Licensing or Certifications Preferred Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Required:
Class A CDL Preferred:
HazMat endorsements to drive a Vacuum Truck.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
At least 2 years of experience driving a commercial truck. Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record. Meet the physical requirements to driver commercial vehicles and carry a Class A CDL. Experience completing pre-and post-trip vehicle inspections. Knowledge of the Federal Motor Carriers Act regulations. Excellent safe driver behaviors.
Pay and Other Conditions:
Work 40 to 48 hours per week. Company provided camp living arrangements. $20 to $23 an hour for Belly Dump driver. $20 to $25 an hour for Vacuum Truck driver. Both eligible for per diem.
