Truck Mechanic- Heavy and Light Duty

This position is essential for ensuring our fleet of light and heavy-duty trucks are safe, efficient, and reliable. The ideal candidate will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various vehicles and equipment. Job Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance and inspections on light and heavy-duty trucks, including but not limited to oil changes, tire rotations, brake services, and inspections. Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to ensure vehicles meet safety and operational standards. Document all work performed, including inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and parts used, in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations. Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to prioritize work orders and minimize equipment downtime.

Qualifications/Requirements Experience & Certifications:

Technical or vocational education in automotive or diesel mechanics is preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in light and heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair. Maine State Commercial Inspection License A and D preferred. ASE Certification(s) or equivalent is highly desirable. Valid driver's license required; CDL Class A or B preferred.

Other Requirements:

Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, electrical, fuel systems, and air brake systems. Proficiency in using diagnostic, hand, power, and repair tools. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair instructions. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
