Job Overview:
The Modification Center production technician must be able to perform customer specific installations on all truck systems. Job duties include new vehicle inspections and fabrications as needed on new Medium Duty and Heavy-Duty Class 8 trucks.
Key Responsibilities:
Proficient in the use of shop equipment and tools, including precision instruments and shop machines. Must complete work accurately and timely as outlined in published time standards manuals and document repair times. Ability to read and understand technical publications, including service manuals and service bulletins. Follow electrical wire harness clamping and routing best practices. Electrical System Inspection, Diagnosis, and Repair. Determine usability of component parts; list, order, and document part usage using the DMS (Dealer Management System). Utilize Dealer Portal and all relevant areas; complete work descriptions and OEM-required paperwork and warranty processes. Complete OEM Skilled and Expert Tech requirements. Perform all aspects of the job safely in accordance with OSHA, company rules, and lock out/Tag out Procedures. Achieve and maintain certifications as required by the company, OEMs, or Federal Law. Understands the importance of attendance and punctuality.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma required. Valid Vehicle Driver License (Required); CDL preferred but not required. Must hold and maintain PA Inspections-Class 3 License and perform Federal DOT Inspections. Forklift skilled and training certification. Good people skills to interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers. Provide assistance, guidance, and direction to Production Apprentice technicians. Ability to read/write English and understand computer-generated reports. Familiar with diagnostic tools and able to operate various computer diagnostic devices, PCs, and laptops.
Physical Demands:
Ability to maneuver around, in, on or under trucks to thoroughly inspect or diagnose all types of problems and repairs. Must be able to lift 75 pounds to the waist and 50 pounds to the shoulder. $30.77 - $33.52 per hour
