Job Description

(ATDS) is an established company operating throughout North America with more than 30 years of experience in the automotive industry. We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to manage the contracted services of our Uvalde, TX location. You may learn more about our operations by visiting our website: www.automotivetesting.com As the Operations Manager of the contracted services, you will serve as the company's interface between our company and our customer. You will be responsible for the overall contract management and operations of our Uvalde, TX location while ensuring safe and efficient operations. You will carry out all project management as well as supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policy. Responsibilities may include; interviewing, hiring, and training new and existing employees. Planning, assigning and directing all work performed. Authoring and performing employee performance appraisals. Addressing employee performance as well as corrective action plans. Organizing/ tracking project budget in collaboration with the customer. This position requires either a bachelor's degree in the area of specialty and/or 8-10 years of proven experience within the field or a related area. You must be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures as this position will rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish company goals. You will perform a variety of tasks, lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected in this position. The Operations Manager reports to all top management within the company. Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all human resources management items such as hiring, firing, counseling, discipline, and performance improvement.
  • Ensures that adequate numbers of trained staff for the various positions are available to work while scheduling and responding to the continuous changes in customer demands.
  • Continuously perform quality assessment and quality improvement.
  • Conducts safety training and safety performance improvement.
  • Develops and implements appropriate personnel policies in accordance with Company Policy. Required Skills and Experience
  • Three years minimum supervisory experience.
  • Advanced computer skills, i.e. familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and regulations.
  • Experience in Leading/ mentoring a large team.

  • Previous experience in managing an automotive / vehicle testing operation or proving ground.
  • Automotive technician and or tire technician experience.
  • Commercial Driver's License. Education
  • High School Graduate
  • Prefer two years of college-level course work
  • Prefer Certifications in personnel management and automotive technology Salary/Other Information This is a salaried, full-time position with ATDS, Inc.
, and pay will be negotiated depending on experience. The normal work schedule is Monday-Friday, however, the Manager must be available for off-hours as well as weekend and/or emergency situations.
