Job Description

Category Imaging - Ultrasound General Job Type Contract A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled imaging professional experienced in General Ultrasound to join their diagnostic team on a contract basis. This important role supports physicians by performing accurate and timely ultrasound examinations, contributing to the diagnosis and care of patients.
Key Qualifications:
Certification as an Ultrasound Technician/Sonographer from an accredited program Current registry with ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) or equivalent recognized credential Proven experience with a variety of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, OB/GYN, small parts, and vascular studies Thorough understanding of patient safety and infection control protocols Ability to operate and troubleshoot ultrasound imaging equipment Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare staff Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Responsibilities:
Prepare and position patients for ultrasound examinations, ensuring comfort and privacy throughout procedures Operate ultrasound equipment, producing high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation Maintain accurate records of procedures and update patient charts in accordance with facility protocols Communicate findings or concerns promptly to physicians and collaborate with the healthcare team Adhere to established safety measures and infection control policies Maintain cleanliness and functionality of imaging equipment and procedure rooms
